
Charlotte City Ballet Company is a pre-professional ballet company whose mission is to provide quality performance training and performance opportunities for aspiring dancers and to enrich the Charlotte community through its public performances and outreach programs. The members of Charlotte City Ballet Company range from ages 10-18 and are students of the Ballet Program at the Sullivan Dance Centre. The company is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1985 by Claudia Folts and Beverly Barwick and includes both classical and contemporary works in its repertoire. Charlotte City Ballet has performed with the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, Carolina Voices, BalletFest Atlanta and the Festival of North Carolina in Winston Salem, North Carolina. From 1999 to 2006, Charlotte City Ballet was a member of Southeastern Regional Ballet Association where they were an honor company for four years.
